ChatGPT and 9/11: Operation Headfake

Artificial Intelligence is the “in” thing, and for good reason — the latest Nobel Prizes in Chemistry and Physics went to teams who used AI to great effect.  What a coincidence, we’ve been doing the same thing with ChatGPT and 9/11.

ChatGPT willingly generates pages and pages of nonsense about 9/11, even going so far as to call any doubts about the official “planes” story a sign of disrespect.  My co-author John Herold has been interviewing ChatGPT about 9/11 since its release, and has discovered a way to get it to finally tell the truth (or at least close!).  Each week we’re going to release five questions and graded answers of ChatGPT about what it thinks really happened on 9/11 (and since then) using our developed method.  We’ve had fun putting this together and are proud of our student.  ChatGPT’s performance around 9/11 went from flunking to honor roll – all it took was a little nudging.  If only the American public were so easy to enlighten.
